Substance Abuse Testing
The Mo-Kan Construction Industry Substance Abuse Program (CISAP) is a comprehensive drug and alcohol testing program designed for the specific needs of employers and employees within the construction and building industries. Because Unions, contractors and managers are committed to maintaining safe and efficient working environments, CISAP's goal is to reduce substance abuse throughout the profession.
CISAP currently serves more than 1000 employers and more than 18000 construction Union members throughout Missouri and Kansas.
CISAP specializes in a variety of drug and alcohol screening initiatives designed to meet the needs of both employers and employees, including initial testing of current participant employees, pre-employment testing, post-incident testing, reasonable suspicion testing and random screening for drug and/or alcohol abuse. Because CISAP's goal is to make the testing process as convenient and efficient as possible, random drug and/or alcohol screenings are conducted on-site, rather than requiring an employee to travel to a collection facility. Because of its role in helping to ensure safer working conditions for both employers and employees, CISAP was honored with the International Risk Management Institute's (IRMI) Gary E. Bird Horizon Award, which annually recognizes an organization that demonstrates a commitment to improving construction risk management through innovative, cost-effective and efficient risk management techniques. When speaking about CISAP, one IRMI executive remarked, "If this program can influence the industry, it will be a milestone in safety."
